Job Summary The Registered Nurse uses their expertise to conduct health and behavioral assessments, make referrals, and advise students in a developmentally appropriate manner. The Registered Nurse will facilitate the organization and operation of the outpatient program at the Student Health Center to include initial contact, obtaining vital signs and coordinating patient flow. As a part of the Division of Student Life, the Student Health Center uses the (CLASS)- Clustered Learning, Advocacy, and Support for Students model for student interactions. CLASS is a comprehensive approach to the student practice at Rensselaer. Through continuing support, guidance, and co-curricular activities, CLASS connects students to a network of faculty, staff, and other students, ensuring that they are part of a strong community of learners. Minimum Qualifications » Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited program » New York State licensed RN » Three (3) years practice in an emergency medicine, ambulatory care, family practice or other busy outpatient setting is required » practice with young adults/adolescents is required. » BLS certified candidates must meet stated minimum education and practice requirements.
