Senior Commercial Lending Specialist

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Commercial Lending Specialist. Primary function: Provide support to Commercial Lending Operations, including preparation of department reports and maintenance of department databases and portfolio management systems; as well as the third party due diligence process. Primarily responsible for assisting with the more complex and/or time sensitive commercial loan files, relying on broad commercial loan processing and third party report due diligence practice to make sound decisions and recommendations. Provide support to internal and external member requests. Complete commercial loan quality control and data for various reports, including HMDA. Responsible for reconciliation of GL accounts and processing of invoices and checks received for various commercial lending functions.
Responsibilities
   » Track, monitor and provide regular updates on the third party due diligence process, specifically commercial appraisal and environmental reports.  To include obtaining quotes, ordering, collecting funds and processing payments for commercial appraisal and environmental reports and reviews.
   » Complete commercial loan quality control and data for various reports, including HMDA.
   » Prepare and regularly update required Commercial Lending department, management and Board reports. To include pipeline, watch list, portfolio, exception, SBA, UCC expiration, and various other monthly or quarterly reports.
   » Responsible for superviseing the reporting, payment application, and maintenance of SBA Loans (including PPP loans), as needed.
   » supervise the distribution of HVCU Business Loan Committee packages as well as reviewing minutes for these meetings.
   » Provide support to Commercial Lending staff, including tracking documents out for recording and maintaining current information for the commercial loan portfolio.
   » supervise the maintenance of complete and accurate commercial credit files as well as assisting with gathering and providing information during exams and audits. To include maintaining and updating participation loan files and participation due diligence documents.
   » Primarily responsible for reconciliation of GL accounts and processing of invoices and checks received for various commercial lending functions.
   » Ensure vendor management system is updated and maintained by collecting required due diligence information from vendors and submitting to the appropriate area/system.
   » Provide backup support to Commercial Lending Specialist I, as needed.
   » Maintain and update department procedures. To include tracking of procedure updates and changes.
   » Have a strong knowledge of commercial loan terminology and commercial loan ratios including debt-to earnings ratio, debt service coverage ratio, and loan to value ratio.
   » Assist with the maintenance of all commercial loans on the loan origination/servicing system, and submit service requests, as needed.
   » Provide backup coverage for commercial loan processing and administrative functions, as needed.
   » Achieve goals assigned to the Senior Commercial Lending Specialist as part of the assigned departments’ annual operating plan. To include suggesting and assisting with implementing process improvements to enhance member practice and increase department efficiencies.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
   » Associate’s Degree, High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
   » Bachelor's Degree preferred
   » Minimum of 5 years of commercial/business lending practice required
   » Knowledge of database, excel and report preparation required
   »
Commercial loan documentation practice, in particular with appraisal and environmental reports required
   »
practice with Synergy/document imaging system preferred
