Job Summary The Sr. Student Services Administrator (Undergraduate) will work with the Associate Deans and Faculty Advisors to counsel Rensselaer undergraduate students on academic course requirements, course selection, and prerequisite courses. The administrator will also assist with the development and implementation of services and programs to facilitate success and degree completion of Architecture students and work to provide referrals to various campus offices and services as needed. The incumbent along with other Sr. Student Services staff is responsible for planning events and activities on advising, retention, open houses, recruiting and orientation programs. The administrator will also work closely with the Undergraduate Chair on managing the course scheduling and course catalog for all Architecture programs. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's Degree in related field » Two or more years of practice with academic advising, student services, student affairs, career development or other related field » A significant combination of education and practice may be substituted for a degree. Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » Requires expertise of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) » Demonstrated proficiency with on-line degree audit and tracking system. » Exceptional interpersonal expertise with the capability to influence and build working relationships with a culturally diverse population at all levels across the Institute » capability to create a welcoming environment that is inclusive of students from diverse backgrounds » capability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines » capability to speak professionally and personably before an audience, present materials and ideas effectively, and be able to verbally respond to questions and inquiries related to the undergraduate practice and Architecture programs » Proficiency in MS Office Suite software applications » Strong organizational and time management expertise with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail in a complex organizational environment » capability to work independently and contribute to a team environment » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives » capability to anticipate and solve problems » capability to initiate projects and function as a self-starter » capability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and apply FERPA regulations Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday TravelLocal travel between campus locations only Driving Incidental driving possible, but not required Application instructions Follow the on-screen prompts to create a brief online profile.
