Development Operations Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Development Operations Specialist, you will blend data management with front-facing engagement and event support. You will maintain an accurate donor database, improve strategic stewardship efforts, and help plan and manage donor and community-facing events. You will report to the Executive Director of Development & Community Relations and will work a hybrid schedule with occasional travel for events or donor meetings.
Responsibilities:
   » Be a visible representative of the organization during donor visits, tours, fundraising events, and community engagements.
   » Help plan and manage donor appreciation events and stewardship activities.
   » Develop a comprehensive action plan to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level donors, with the goal of retaining and upgrading their gifts.
   » Manage donor stewardship actions, ensuring donors receive significant engagement.
   » supervise gift processing, reconciliation, acknowledgment letters, and reporting for cash, estates, grants, and in-kind donations.
   » Manage the donor database, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and legal regulations.
   » Create dashboards, reports, and data analyses to track fundraising campaign performance and donor trends.
   » Collaborate with the Finance Department to reconcile donation records, prepare audits, and provide tax receipts.
   » Partner with the Communications Team to develop donor-focused email campaigns, event communications, and performance metrics.
   » supervise and train staff in using the donor database and other significant platforms.
   » Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy for marketing and fundraising projects.
   » Contribute to budget reconciliation and participate in strategic discussions on donor retention and engagement.
   » Support cross-departmental collaborations with Finance and Program teams to enhance donor relations and transparency.
   » Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements and suitable education
   » Associate's degree required
   » Valid NYS license and access to vehicle for business use required
   » practice in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or other customer relations management systems preferred
