Desktop Support Spec IOverviewHudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Desktop Support Spec I. Primary Function: provide Tier II hardware and software support to Credit Union technology users. Install, support, repair and maintain HVCU desktop computer systems. Responsibilities » Maintain and support Credit Union software and hardware on desktop systems and peripheral equipment, including Microsoft Operating systems and productivity suites, Symitar software and all peripherals connected with proper functioning of the Credit Union. » Prioritize and manage trouble tickets, performing fixes, recommending solutions, and when necessary, escalating the issue to Network Support, Applications Support, IT Management, or third-party vendors. » Train users and/or members on desktop software and hardware as needed. Provide timely follow-up and updates during the course of resolution of a problem. Resolve internal customers concerns with respect and tact. Explain technology issues in a clear way without relying on jargon. » Install new hardware and software as needed for testing and integration into Credit Union systems. » Work with Desktop Support Specialist II and Systems Specialists to help integrate new branches and departments into Credit Union technology infrastructure. » Assist in information technology operations and provide off-hour support as needed. » Assist with on-the-job training for new Desktop specialists as needed. » Act as Help Desk Specialist on an as-needed basis. » Assist the Help Desk in troubleshooting problems or system errors. » Contribute to the creation and maintenance of procedures for IT Desktop Support related processes. Work with management to ensure procedures are approved and implemented in a timely fashion. » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned. » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities.
