WIC Qualified Nutritionist/Nutrition CoordinatorSun River Health provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who see it, regardless of insurance status and capability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time WIC Qualified Nutritionist/Nutrition Coordinator to support our Poughkeepsie site.The WIC Qualified Nutritionist/Nutrition Coordinator participates in all tasks and functions as a Qualified Nutritionist. In addition, may conduct all tasks of the Nutrition adjunct. this function assists with guiding the local agency nutrition services including annual and continuing staff training, implementation, and quality assurance measures. this function may participate in the development of the Local Agency Compliance and Self-Assessment and the fulfilment of local agency goals annually. Licenses and Certifications: Registered Dietician - optional Job Competencies: » Ensures that all mandated trainings are completed and continuing education credits are achieved annually » Works in clinic everyday as a Qualified Nutritionist with a diverse population ensuring high quality nutrition education service » Attends and participates in local agency coordinator meetings regularly as assigned by director » Is proficient in the implementation of high-risk care and food package » Participates in the development of the local agency nutrition education plan annually » Assists with developing the local agency staff training plan and ensuring staff are maintaining mandated credits related to their function » Develops agendas and provides nutrition in-service training to staff who provide nutrition services to keep current with nutrition policy and issues. Maintains sign in sheets of staff attendance at in-service trainings » supervise procedures used to fulfill food and formula prescriptions and coordinate with medical providers, as appropriate » Evaluates the relevance and use of nutrition education materials provided to participant by the local agency » Participates in local and state workgroups to improve nutrition services » Coordinates nutrition services with breastfeeding coordinator, outreach coordinator, other WIC program operations and community organizations » Attends professional conferences, meetings, seminars and trainings » Provides technical assistance and consultation to other local agency staff and other health professionals in nutrition service areas » Participates in the development and execution of the annual local agency compliance and self-assessment » Actively participates in the Quality Assurance process to ensure staff competency » Acts as a mentor to other staff providing nutrition services and provide necessary guidance to deliver quality services to WIC participants suitable education Bachelor's Degree -Required, Master's Degree optional income: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00/annually Skills:
