Are you ready to change the world? Apply now! Job Summary The manager, Research Machine Shop directs the continuous, efficient and safe day-to-day operations of the Research Machine Shop. The manager, Research Machine Shop supervises Shop staff, manages workload, monitors performance and serves as the Shop client service liaison. The manager manages the Research Machine Shop master schedule, project estimation and invoice preparation. Minimum Qualifications » High School/Equivalent in High School diploma or equivalent » 8 years of related practice to include: » Machine tool application » Design in a research and development environment » Three years of managery practice; may include practice as a lead worker, project coordinator, or other similar function. A significant combination of practice, education, and training can be substituted for the above qualifications. Preferred Qualifications » Associate's Degree in related field » Five years managery practice Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » expertise of standard machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines and grinders » capability to read and work from blueprints, drawings and create schematic and one line diagrams » capability to apply information in sketches, diagrams, drawings, and schematics » Requires expertise and proficiency in the following: » Personal/Business computing » Microsoft Office » Exchange Email and Calendaring » Requires capability to anticipate and solve problems » capability to work under tight deadlines » Requires a demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service » Strong leadership abilities and managery abilities » Advanced planning, organizing and effective time management expertise » capability to prepare and interpret financial and other data » capability to anticipate and solve problems » Excellent client relations expertise » Excellent communication expertise in both verbal and written forms Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday TravelNo travel Driving No Driving Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $75,000 - $85,000 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
