Communications Specialist

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Communications Specialist!
 
this job offer is responsible for HVCU's internal communication, including the application of communication strategy, coordination of content development, and intranet system administration to support consistency and alignment within the employee practice. Ensure communication campaigns and content are aligned with HVCU strategy and business priorities, including HVCU purpose, impact and core values. Assists with external communications as needed.
Responsibilities
   » Create and coordinate day to day communications such as organizational updates, HV4U, staff newletters, and benefit news to engage and educate staff.
   » Develop, implement and maintain effective internal communication/content strategies for internal employee facing communications for a variety of internal initiatives, projects and other internal communication activities across the organization.
   » Develop strong relationships with leaders across the organization to build trust in the communications process, stay current with all business goals and strategy, and help them determine appropriate communications for the organization. Partner with a variety of internal clients to develop communication strategy and campaigns to drive strategic business priorities, organizational culture, changes, and other legal and compliance.
   » Develop and drive content and communication strategy for the internal communication channels including intranet, in-house digital displays, and other staff signage. Support employee engagement initiatives such as Employee Resource Groups and HVSeeU recognition platform.
   » Provide guidance and oversight of other content managers consistent with intranet protocols. Manage administration of communication systems (intranet/internal social media).
   » Assist with development of communication protocols that educate staff and enhance employee engagement to achieve communication strategy objectives. Ensure a variety of channels are used to support inclusive communication and rich content.
   » Maintain organizational calendar of employee-related events in coordination with the Employee practice Council, Employee Resource Groups, and related committees to ensure centralized communication and awarness. 
   » Evaluate strategy and system effectiveness through engagement measurement and statistical analysis. Investigate and recommend new methodologies and best practices that may increase the effectiveness of employee communication.
   » Utilize same effective communication skills and skills when providing external communications assistance.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all requiredand recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications
   » High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate.
   » Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred.
   » Minimum 3 years developing and delivering organizational communication.
   » Minimum 2 years managing content using an intranet platform.
   » practice in Credit Union or Financial Institution preferred.
   » Minimum 2 years managing content using an intranet platform required.
   » practice in Credit Union or Financial Institution preferred.
   » Web Design preferred.
   » Project Management preferred.
