Deposit Operations Manager

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Deposit Operations Manager. Primary Function: Support strategic direction through communication and leadership abilities actions aligned with organizational goals. Guide team by applying established performance standards, training, and coaching to develop employees to meet or exceed expectations, building an engaged team. Ensure adherence to the established budget and provide recommendations for adjustments for improvement. Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution. Lead and coach to implement member practice improvements that support strategic direction. Monitor and support adherence to industry regulations and safety standards within operational activities. 
Responsibilities
   » Provide leadership abilities and oversight for Deposit Operations team including and not limited to: deposit account servicing, ATM, bank by mail and remote transaction processing, record retention and reporting.  Examples of tasks include:  online account opening, deposit account maintenance, legal orders, restraints, abandoned property, tax reporting, statement audits, imaging, etc.

Ensure staffing needs and builds and engaged team through actions of recruiting, training, developing, coaching and evaluating employees. 
   »
Guide employees using performance standards to meet or exceed key performance indicators that support quality member practice.
   »
Manage vendor relationships and maintain a thorough and current expertise of Federal, State and industry regulations. Review applicable regulations such as Regulation CC, Federal Protected Funds, IRA and IRS reporting, analyze their impact on existing policies, procedures and member service, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
   »
Contribute toward budgetary construction, monitors and makes recommendations for adjustments to reduce expenses.
   »
Plan for and analyze gaps and trends and influence direction with business partners.  Build cohesive relationships across all business lines and drive change.
   »
Responsible for compiling, analyzing, preparing and reporting metrics, results, team development and operational/financial/statistical data to all levels within the organization.
   »
Maintain superior expertise of the variety of products, guidelines and services offered and attend meetings and training programs as required by the Credit Union in order to maintain this level of practice and expertise.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

 
   » Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed, in Business or a related field is required
   » capability to achieve NYS Notary Public license within 12 months is required
   » Minimum 3 Years leadership abilities practice required
   » Minimum 2 Years practice in a financial institution is required
   » expertise of financial industry rules and regulations relating to deposit accounts i s preferred
   » practice managing vendor relationships is preferred.
