Job location: Brewster, NY practice Required: 1 year as a DSP or practice with OPWDD Pay: $22 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Job employment Type: Temp to Hire Direct Support Professional General Requirements: » Minimum 1 year of practice as a Direct Support Professional or practice working with individuals under the OPWDD program. » High school diploma or equivalent (college education in a related field is a plus). » Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. » Strong communication and interpersonal expertise. » capability to work collaboratively as part of a team. » Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and individual needs. Direct Support Professional Responsibilities: » Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. » Assist individuals in everyday living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. » Promote community engagement and assist in accessing social and recreational activities. » Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans as required. » Encourage skill development and independence in individuals to enhance their quality of life. » Document and maintain accurate records of everyday activities and progress.
