Middletown AreaTax and Accounting ProfessionalStaff Accountant/Tax ProfessionalOur Firm, located in the Middletown area, seeks to add an practiced Staff Accountant/Tax Professional to our team. As the Staff Accountant, you work with a team of 5 in our small firm which focuses on planning, advice, taxes and accounting work for small businesses. this job offer works from our offices and not remotely. We provide training and expertise development. This exciting position offers an excellent opportunity to grow and enhance your expertise. Tax and Accounting Professional Job tasks: -Prepare individual tax returns for self-employed and high-net worth individuals. -Prepare corporate tax returns. -Perform basic research and draft results memos for manager approval -Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other documents -Prepare client records for off-shore accounting team -Assist with the month end close and quarterly preparation, especially review of work completed by off-shore team Success as a Tax and Accounting Professional with our Firm includes: -practice with Microsoft Excel and Word ; Google Workspace especially Sheets -capability to work independently and within a team -Professional written and oral communication expertise -capability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Additional valuable practice -practice with Drake tax software; Xero accounting software; QuickBooks and Gusto payroll -Research practice using CCH Answer Connect or similar tools -practice with international tax work -A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business -Enrolled Agent certification or CPA This is a full time, temp-to-hire position paying $25-$35 per hour. Working hours are typically,9am-5pm, 32-40 per week, but will increase to about 50 per week during the busy season near tax time.
