Instructional Designer

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Instructional Designer. Primary Function: analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate strategies to effectively use and share organizational knowledge delivered through a variety of media including, but not limited to, knowledge resources, instructor-led, blended and online learning. Support strategic initiatives of knowledge sharing and organizational learning through participation on Credit Union teams and projects.

Responsibilities

   » Design, implement and maintain effective knowledge transfer solutions, considering a blended approach to meet organizational needs. Partner with Manager, Organizational Knowledge to ensure the most effective learning strategies are used to meet program objectives.
   » Perform needs analysis by consulting with end users to design, develop, and review knowledge assets, training programs, and knowledge assessments to ensure program effectiveness.
   » Confer with management to determine the technical and operational knowledge/training needs of the organization.
   » Develop a working knowledge and knowledge of products, services, processes and systems. Contribute to the design, set up, and maintenance of internal systems used for continuing learning (i.e. LMS, authoring tools, core and supporting transactional systems, etc.). Facilitate the sharing of best business practices across the organization.
   » Participate on HVCU teams and projects as a representative of Talent Management providing advice, skills, and solutions to support strategic initiatives. Conduct needs/task assessments to determine knowledge objectives. Create, deploy, and monitor completion of appropriate knowledge transfer/learning solutions using a variety of delivery methods.
   » Partner with internal clients to gather information, feedback, and approval. Act as the primary point of contact with subject matter experts and management.
   » Evaluate and ensure program effectiveness through measurement and statistical analysis.
   » Work with Training Specialists and organizational SMEs to ensure their knowledge of various blended learning solutions and partner with them as programs are developed or updated to incorporate a blended learning approach.
   » Present and/or facilitate learning programs on a variety of topics.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union's initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

   » Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of practice required
   » Minimum 2 Years Instructional design that incorporates adult learning principles and results in engaging and significant programs practice required
   » Minimum 2 Years Designing and developing online learning, distance learning, blended curricula including using online learning authoring tools (ie WebEx, Articulate, etc), and knowledge resources/job aides practice required
   » Minimum 1 Year Managing content practice preferred
