Job Summary The Research Machinist/Welder plans and performs a broad range of machining and bench operations as well as hand welding to fabricate a variety of short run special or experimental parts, jigs and fixtures per customer requirements. Minimum Qualifications » High School diploma or GED » Five years' practice in machine tool operations and technical welding significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Preferred Qualifications » Two-year significant technical degree in welding or completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of practice, training and /or education » practice in a research and development facility Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » capability to weld a wide assortment of materials using the appropriate techniques for each » Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams, and schematics » expertise of standard machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines and grinders » capability to produce results under pressure situations » Requires a demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service » capability to work independently or as part of a team » capability to work with a diverse population Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday TravelNo travel Driving No Driving Application instructions Follow the on-screen prompts to create a brief online profile.
