On Call School Nurse (LPN)Hayes Day School, located in Millbrook, NY, is a state-of-the-art facility serving 60 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are pursuing an On-Call Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to supervise the medical and record-keeping needs of all students during scheduled school hours.This is an exciting opportunity to join a reliable and growing organization that prides itself on transforming lives and helping individuals achieve their greatest potential in a caring, supportive, and team-oriented environment. This On-Call position (with possibility of temporary long-term leave coverage) is scheduled as needed Monday – Friday, 8am – 3:30pm, located on the school calendar.. What We’re Looking For (Qualifications): » Licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in NYS » At least one (1) year of practice in the nursing field is desired » Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred » practice working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred What You’ll Do as the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (Responsibilities): » Provide supervision and training of staff to meet the needs of the student » Address issues relative to the health and safety of the students and the staff » Maintain close communication with the residential nurses, sharing and receiving current and accurate information on all health-related issues » Maintain communication with the parents of children who come in the house to attend HDS » Assure that staff understand medical/health related issues and carry out proper procedure of delegated tasks, using hands-on instruction and regular visits to the classrooms » Provide support and counsel to classroom staff in the area of updating feeding procedures, therapies, and other medical issues that arise » Assess condition of all students as needed Pay: $24.79 / hour Apply NOW for immediate consideration!
