Peer Specialist
The Peer Specialist is a member of the Rehabilitation Services Team!
In this job offer, you will provide peer-delivered services in Ulster and Dutchess Counties, with an emphasis on rehabilitation and recovery.The Peer Specialist supports expertise for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms while utilizing natural resources. In thisposition you will assist individuals in developing recovery-oriented principles.
Peer Specialists obtain Peer Service referrals, participate in treatment team meetings, and provide linkage and referral facilitation for services, resources and tools on behalf of recipients. In this function you will provide outreach and presentations to mental health practitioners regarding peer services for Gateway Hudson Valley, and track utilization of services and referrals to monitor results of those referrals. Peer Specialists maintain communication and relationships with individuals, outside agencies and referral sources.
Full-Time
8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday
$17.00/hr.

Qualifications

Education and practice:
Associate's Degree in human services field
Or
High School diploma with two year's vocational practice in Rehabilitation field

Preferred:
NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)
Prior practice as a certified peer specialist/advocate
practice working with person with co-occurring disorders

Must have a Valid NYS Driver's License
Must have a favorable result from all state, federal, and agency mandated background check
