Job Summary
The Sr. Business Administrator will supervise the assigned business functions for the Office of the Provost and will be responsible for following Institute and sponsor guidelines for spending and budgeting, as well as responsible for providing support to, staff and students on procurement and travel systems, and Institute financial, operational, and academic policies. The Sr. Business Administrator will also be responsible for assisting the Manager of Academic Operations & Planning & the Provost's Business Manager preparing complex financial reports which may include providing budgets and forecasts, reviewing graduate financial aid, reconciling undergraduate research funding, and monitoring all fund types in preparation of specific information, and analyses, as required by the Managers. this job offer will also provide backup support to temporary vacancies within the business functions of the Academic portfolios, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
   » Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar field
   » Five (5) years of significant practice to including three (3) years of work practice in the administration, monitoring and management of research and/or other closely related types of restricted funds
   » A significant combination of education and directly related practice in higher education may be substituted for a degree
 

Preferred Qualifications
   » Familiarity with federal and state government regulations as they pertain to research administration
   » practice managing the administrative and business functions for a university research center or department; including budget preparation, proposal preparation, financial management, and human resources activities
   » Demonstrated proposal development and management practice
 

Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities
   » capability to analyze and interpret reports, documents and statistical data
   » capability to execute budget reporting and forecasting, as well as account reconciliation
   » expertise of financial software, including spreadsheet, database, and data warehouse applications
   » Proficiency in MS Office Suite software applications
   » capability to lgain and/or use SCT Banner finance, position control and labor modules or other appropriate applications
   » expertise of fund located budgeting.
   » Excellent verbal and written communications expertise
   » capability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
   » capability to work as individually or as part of a team
   » Attention to detail and excellent organizational expertise
