Listing description
Information Technology Services (ITS), the central IT provider at the University at Albany, seeks candidates for an Integration Developer to support the academic, research, and business needs of this R1 institution. The University's constantly evolving, and increasingly complex technical environment encompasses more than 250 applications, including the student information system which supports over 17,000 students. The Integration Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support of integration solutions for the University's enterprise applications and for providing a robust and performant network of consumable APIs. They are comfortable analyzing complex requirements to implement highly effective solutions.
The Integration Developer works as a core member of a highly collaborative team of IT professionals, a group with wide-ranging responsibilities who work closely to ensure the integration, interopercapability, and availcapability of campus technology resources. They enjoy collaborating with other technology professionals to provide solutions and have the technical skill to evaluate, implement, and maintain technology that meets the evolving needs of a wide variety of disciplines and departments. They understand the importance of assessing functionality, performance, risk, and security. The Integration Developer has intellectual curiosity, keen analytical skills, and quickly grasps new concepts. They are confident in their knowledge and capability to make recommendations and work across ITS and business units to provide input and skills to a range of services.
The prosperous candidate has excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, the capability to cultivate relationships with a wide variety of constituents, proven API design and development skills, and previous practice using application integration platforms such as MuleSoft's Anypoint iPaaS platform. The Integration Developer is expected to work well with limited supervision and within a team environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day operational ownership, including quality assurance activities and documentation, for integration solutions.
   » Design, develop, and implement integration solutions using MuleSoft.
   » Lead the MuleSoft development and operational activities required to adopt enhancements and refactor solutions for Anypoint platform updates.
   » Assist in the migration of legacy integrations, written in a variety of languages, to the MuleSoft platform.
   » Define and document integration standards and best practices.
   » Coach team members to build knowledge and skills on MuleSoft.
   » Work closely with technical staff to ensure integration solution designs meet customer business needs and requirements.

General Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications required

   » A bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
   » Two or more years of practice working as a developer with an application integration platform.
   » Proven programming skills and a deep knowledge of REST/SOAP API protocols.
   » practice working with version control solutions such as Git and a solid knowledge of continuous integration concepts and technologies.
   » Knowledge and practice in the utilization of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
   » capability to independently organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple and changing priorities.
   » candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
   » candidates must demonstrate an capability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
   » candidates must demonstrate an capability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their function.
   » candidates must be eligible to work legally in the United States without employee sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications required
   » practice working in higher education and/or familiarity with the unique needs of an academic institution.
   » practice with MuleSoft API Manager, Runtime Manager, RAML, Exchange and Design Center.
   » MuleSoft Developer certification.
   » Two or more years of Java development practice.
   » practice utilizing Maven for build management.
   » practice integrating with PeopleSoft.
   » practice with modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, Node, and jQuery to assist in troubleshooting client consumption of APIs.
   » practice in creating custom MuleSoft connectors.
   » practice with GitHub Action Development
   » practice with Acquia Cloud.
Additional Information:
Professional Rank and income Grade: Senior Programmer Analyst, LS-4, $105,000-$110,000
