Residential Group Home RN Qualifications » New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required. » Minimum of two years of clinical nursing practice (practice with ID/DD populations preferred). » expertise of OPWDD regulations and community resources. » Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems. » capability to physically assist individuals as needed and intervene during behavioral crises using approved techniques. » Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the capability to operate agency vehicles. » Must prosperously complete all required agency training within six months of employment. Residential Group Home RN Responsibilities » Provide competent nursing care, including routine, emergency, and minor medical treatment. » Administer medications per physician orders and supervise staff training in medication administration, including initial certification and annual recertification. » Conduct physical assessments upon admission, post-hospitalization, and as per program guidelines. » Maintain accurate medical records and ensure health information is readily available for healthcare providers. » Collaborate with hospitals, physicians, and community resources to coordinate care. » Enforce policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with OPWDD regulations. » Assist in identifying and covering medication errors, working with leadership abilities to implement corrective actions. » Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and work closely with families and advocates to provide individualized care.
