Web Developer - MarketingThe Web Developer collaborates with the Enrollment Management and Marketing unit to proactively ensure web properties and other digital marketing platforms are meeting marketing, enrollment, and student retention and communications goals. this function works closely with Marketing leadership abilities to conceptualize, design, prototype, and build websites and web applications as well as to develop interactive practices in platforms used for recruitment and the student practice. They will support the University’s marketing initiatives by working on the main website, student portal, web applications, digital communications, and student recruitment initiatives. The web developer will also coordinate and conduct uscapability testing to identify and solve interface problems, and help inform development of user-centered, accessible, and mobile responsive web practices. In addition, this job offer will analyze emerging technologies and implement them wherever they are most beneficial.A cover letter and link to your portfolio/samples are required. this job offer is located out of the university’s home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Remote employees are expected to be available during work hours 8:30am – 5:00pm Eastern time. The University will supply necessary equipment to execute the essential functions of this job (e.g., laptop, docking station). Employees are responsible for having a workspace where they can participate in virtual meetings without multiple interruptions and noise. tasks and Responsibilities » Design and maintain websites, including development of new functionality, content updates, style and layout, mobile first and responsive design, and improved accessibility, SEO implementation, and site performance in collaboration with Enrollment Management and Marketing, as well as external vendors as needed. » Develop interactive, lead-generating web practices, landing pages, and other web properties. » Coordinate various projects related to web development and design, which may include visualization and imaging projects, front-end and back-end design and implementation, database creating and integration, etc. » Front-end development including user interface, physical layout, graphics integration, and HTML and JavaScript usage for enhancement. » Comply with accessibility standards, contractual obligations, confidentiality and privacy policies, and style and standard guidelines. » Conduct research on emerging development and design ideas and deliver fresh, stylized, and on-brand solutions that align with short timelines as well as with longer-term projects that have complex, high-production goals. » Be confident working as part of a cross-functional team but be able to independently manage your own projects. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's degree » PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 practice required. » Broad range of expertise and abilities that include strong UX/UI knowledge (gathering user requirements, conducting user research, and user testing), and JavaScript development practice (building interactive web components, etc.) » Demonstrated knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA) and capability to ensure site accessibility and accommodation. » practice with implementing and interpreting Google Analytics (GA4) metrics. » capability to prioritize and approach projects with flexibility and creativity. » Excellent communication and customer service expertise. » Excellent problem-solving expertise and advanced logic expertise. Preferred practice » Prefer practice with WordPress theme and plugin development. » 3–5 years of practice » practice with Bootstrap, React or similar framework.
