Archives Project adjunct»» BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work at the direction of and with the Archivist in the management and preservation of Mohonk Mountain House’s archival collections dating back to 1869, which include a variety of media, including documents, maps, audiovisual materials, born-digital materials, photographs and historical records.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: · Perform basic archival processing including sorting, filing, inventory, arranging, describing, organizing, labeling, rehousing, and reformatting of archival materials. · Classify material for filing; use of straightforward or complex filing system. · Screen complex technical, or specialized documents for referral. · Compose, proofread, or edit formal general correspondence and short reports, for internal or external circulation. · Organize own work, prioritize tasks, work unsupervised and as a member of a team. · Work under pressure and to meet deadlines. · Work methodically and accurately showing attention to detail. · Answer phones and retrieve messages. Respond to research requests with appropriate information. · Assist with special projects, clerical and administrative tasks. · Work extended periods of time viewing a computer video monitor and/ or operating a keyboard. · Perform basic mathematical expertise including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. · Demonstrate proficiency with Windows-located operating systems and use software including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PastPerfect. · Demonstrate organizational expertise, proofreading expertise, and produce well-written, error-free copies. · Adhere to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards; presenting a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and maintaining a positive, professional image to our customers. · Lgain and prosperously demonstrate the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps with Service Strategies with guests and staff. · Lgain and retain expertise of historical facts and information about Mohonk Mountain House. · Maintain a flexible work schedule including holidays and weekends as needed. · Inspect work by touch, sight, sound and smell for conformance to prescribed standards. · Speak, read and write the English language and communicate in a clear and congenial manner, with our guests, visitors and employees. Hear verbal instructions, directions and warnings. · Reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, twist and flex arms, walk up and down stairs/inclines, stand, climb up/down ladders or sit for up to 5 hours at a time. · Lift up to 20 pounds from ground level to waist and carry a distance of up to 25 feet with/ without assistance. Walk up to 2 miles per day. · See close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and capability to adjust focus. · Work in an environment that contains dust. · Act calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Qualifications required · Basic expertise of archival preservation and U.S. history preferred.
