Support Technician Responsible to Position Classifications Manager of I.T & Cyber Security Compliance Hourly/Non-exempt Directly Supervises and Evaluates None Is Back Up To: Manager of I.T & Cyber Security Compliance Is Backed Up By: Manager of I.T & Cyber Security Compliance WOODLAND POND CONFORMANCE STATEMENT In the performance of their respective tasks and responsibilities all employees are expected to conform to the following: Performing quality work with or without direct supervision Interacting professionally with other employees, residents, guests, and all others Working effectively and in conformity with the Woodland Pond Communication Fundamentals Completing tasks independently while knowledge the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations Complying with all federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations as well as Woodland Pond policy and procedure at all times Position Summary The IT Support Technician will provide hands-on technical support to senior residents and staff, assisting with various technology-related issues including TV, smartphones and tablets, AV equipment, printers, WI-FI, PC repair, and desktop support. this function requires a patient and knowledge individual with excellent communication expertise and a background in technical support. ESSENTIAL tasks & RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function) Provides technical assistance to residents with TVs, smartphones & tablets, and AV equipment (*CF) Offers desktop support and computer repair services for PC & MAC, including hardware and software troubleshooting of consumer electronics (*CF) Assist residents with the setup, configuration, and usage of their devices (*CF) Educate and guide residents on basic technology usage and best practices Maintains working inventory of PERS (Personal Emergency Response System) pendants Supports IT and Cybersecurity Manager in managing all communication systems at Woodland Pond (*CF) Acts in a redundant function to the IT and Cybersecurity Manager for IT/IS Incident Response (*CF) Maintain a calm and patient demeanor while covering and resolving resident concerns Document and track issues and resolutions in a ticketing system Collaborate with other staff members to ensure residents receive timely and effective support Stay updated with the latest technology trends and solutions to better assist residents Performs other tasks as assigned KNOWLEDGE, expertise & ABILITIES Be keenly alert at all times to surroundings alerting all employees and other team members to possible threats or situations requiring immediate attention. Is able to deal with a stressful environment; maintains calm demeanor during emergencies Possesses the capability to rationally communicate with rational cognizant abilities Able to make quick, concise decisions while managing many tasks at any one time capability to work calmly in a high stress environment while assisting with multiple resident and employee requests Able to be highly confidential Proficient with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Able to work in a team environment Manages stress and/or fast-pace effectively Excellent communication and problem-solving expertise Organized Flexible Team Player Follows instructions WORKCONDITIONS Exposure to different weather conditions while visiting resident locations Exposure to small domesticated animals broad everyday usage of workstation or computer SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast paced environment shifting priorities Must follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines as determined for the position Must be able to respond to emergency situations Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays in emergency situations or when the need arises Must work on-site; no telecommuting permitted QualificationsQualificationsAssociates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fieldMinimum of 1 year practice in IT support, desktop support, mobile device and/or PC repairExcellent customer service and verbal communication expertiseStrong technical expertise with TVs, smartphones, AV equipment, and computersExcellent communication and interpersonal expertisecapability to explain technical concepts in simple termsPatience and a caring attitude towards senior residentspracticed
