The Dance and Theater & Performance department at Bard College seeks a highly organized Artistic and Administrative adjunct. The position requires the capability to thrive in a busy, collaborative and creative environment and to support the administrative team by completing clerical work, communicating with the campus community about upcoming events, and creating and managing a variety of schedules. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 10-month-per-year position, reporting to the Programs Administrator.

Bard College's main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., with 1,900 undergraduate students; the College also includes multiple graduate programs. The 1,000-acre campus sits along the Hudson River and offers the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and Hessel Museum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, the largest college-degree-granting prison education program in the U.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School Early Colleges across the country as well as international campuses and partnerships. The Bard Network is complex and demonstrates Bard's priorities well in addition to the College's emphasis on civic engagement.

Essential tasks
   » Greeting guests, supervising Front Desk student staff members and creating work schedules for student staff members
   » Filing paperwork, creating/tracking check requests
   » superviseing events such as receptions and meetings, reserving studio spaces, ordering food/drink, setting up the event, and cleaning up afterwards
   » Creating posters and publicity materials for programs and public events
   » Updating the Program websites and managing department calendars
   » Providing tech support (assisting with printer issues, arranging Zoom meetings and setting up necessary equipment, providing adapters for classes/presentations)
   » Liaising with production team members, visiting artists and faculty
   » Arranging faculty and guest artist travel/lodging (booking rental cars, hotel accommodations, transportation schedules) and managing/communicating any changes or disruptions to the travel plans
   » Creating photographer and videographer schedules for event coverage
   » Archiving student materials and production photos and videos, digitizing files
   » Printing and sending letters, performing mail merges
   » Taking notes at program and faculty meetings
   » All other tasks as assigned Qualifications
   » practice coordinating many projects simultaneously in an office setting
   » Strong organizational and administrative expertise
   » Capable of multi-tasking with accuracy and proficiency
   » Proactive and resourceful problem solver
   » capability to work well independently and in a team environment
   » Demonstrated capability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of constituents
   » Strong computer expertise: Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and internet research
   » Proficient in the use of standard office equipment Physical Requirements
   » Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work in a standard office environment
   » Must be able to lift 20 pounds and move equipment such as tables/chairs
   » Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed for event coverage To Apply
