Job Summary The Director of the Physical Plant directs the plant's day-to-day activities and staff, manages all facets of the operations, and maintenance of building and infrastructure systems. The Director develops, implements and evaluates short and long-term plans. The Director will complete, or assist in completing, renewal or renovation projects involving the physical aspects of buildings or building and infrastructure systems. The Director supervises the productivity, management, and accountcapability of all support staff in the Department of Physical Plant. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field » 10 years of practice in facilities operations and maintenance management » practice in coordinating and/or directing a variety of maintenance organizations with a global perspective of the day-to-day maintenance requirements and new construction/renovation » Valid US driver license significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Preferred Qualifications » Professional Engineer License Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » Working expertise of basic industry trades including welding, roofing, electrical, metal work, and carpentry » capability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics » Proficiency in Microsoft office and working expertise of computerized systems and/or software appropriate to physical plant operations » Proven management and leadership abilities capability » capability to communicate and interact with diverse customers and constituencies » Strong interpersonal expertise » Demonstrated oral and written communication expertise » Planning, organizing and effective time management expertise » capability to analyze and interpret financial and other data » Demonstrated strength in budget management » Excellent interpersonal and communication expertise » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives » capability to anticipate and solve problems » Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Shift Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required TravelLocal travel between campus locations only Driving Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use Application instructions Follow the on-screen prompts to create a brief online profile.
