Job Summary APPLICTIONS DUE BY SEPTEMBER 28, 2003 The Manager of Employee Relations and Title IX is responsible for leading and directing all activities related to Employee Relations, Title IX, and the Institute's Financial Conflict of Interest and Commitment program. This includes the development and implementation of all policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure Institute-wide compliance related to federal, state, municipal labor and employment laws and Institute policies. The Manager is expected to provide professional consultation to Institute-wide leaders, faculty and staff in the interpretation and intent of Rensselaer's policies and work practices. The Manager is also responsible for the development and oversight of the Institute's Affirmative Action Plan. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and Five years of practice investigating complex employee relations, student judicial, discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and sexual misconduct and/or retaliation issues. candidates must meet stated minimum education and practice requirements. Preferred Qualifications Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » Comprehensive expertise of and capability to interpret federal and state harassment and non-discrimination laws and regulations, including Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, etc., and other applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations » Strong presentation and facilitation expertise with emphasis on education and training. » capability to effectively supervise staff » Effective written and verbal communication expertise to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely » capability to work with sensitive information in a high volume, fast-paced environment with changing priorities » Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives » capability to work independently or as part of a team » capability to work in fast paced, rapidly changing environment » capability to work collaboratively with internal and external business partners Preferred expertise, Skill, and Abilities » expertise of legal issues in higher education and practice in a university setting.
