Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst, Investment and Treasury Operations will support the adjunct VP for Investment Operations and Treasurer in effectively superviseing RPI's investment, cash management, and debt programs. The Sr. Analyst will also work closely with the Financial Reporting team to ensure the appropriate accounting and reporting of significant responsibilities and activities. The Sr Analyst is responsible for coordinating with external advisors and partners to ensure all everyday back-office activities are handled appropriately, reviewing external performance and activity reporting to ensure processes are performed effectively and efficiently, assist Institute Advancement and other significant teams as required on endowment matters, and liaison with auditors for the financial statement and pension plan audits.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Five years of practice in financial analysis in support of endowment management including gift receipt trends, spend practices, and expertise of industry best practices.

   » Thorough expertise of financial analysis techniques, performance measurement, and modern portfolio theory.

Job tasks
   » Develop and maintain appropriate investment-related databases, initiate the payment of investment-related invoices, and oversea the receipt of continuing manager documentation.
   » Monitor cash balances across multiple counterparties, include BOA, Principal, US Bank, Broadview, and Pioneer, as well as existing lines of credit. Using this information, prepare annual and monthly cash forecasting analysis, and communicate this data effectively across Finance as needed. Act as an backup administrator for certain parties, including BOA.
   » Assist in debt servicing and compliance functions, including maintaining debt analysis worksheets and related resolutions, liaising with other areas of Finance for debt-specific reporting and budgetary requests, maintaining required annual debt usage and cost calculations, debt compliance communications, and rating agency surveys.
   » Act as the supporting liaison with the outsourced portfolio advisors and other partners to ensure accurate reporting of holdings, activity, and other requests, as well as working to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
   » Document appropriate and significant investment management, cash, and debt processes, and assist with the streamlining of significant RPI's operations. This includes editing and maintaining Treasury policies and procedures.
   » Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to be presented to the President, CFO, Investment Committee, and/or Retirement Committee. This includes NACUBO and Cambridge Surveys, monthly performance report, materials produced with outsourced portfolio advisors, and ad hoc requests.
   » Coordinate with external advisors and partners to plan, organize, and manage RPI's cash management activities, related to investments, including cash flow projections and analysis, liquidity management, and reporting.
   » Assist in monitoring and evaluating economic and capital market conditions as needed. Acts as liaison and point person with the audit team in the matters of investments and cash management; prepares all required work papers and year-end schedules for auditors. This includes assisting the Tax team on requests related to investment holdings and cash activity.
   » Act as the Administrator of the Institute's cash management system, setting up appropriate access and monitoring cash activity for approximately 40 users across campus. Maintain appropriate Campus procedures and training that enable internal controls and will provide adequate guidance for the Business Community on campus: business managers, administrators and coordinators.
   » Complete annual surveys for S&P and Moody's and provide input to the Annual Report for debt compliance.

Business Hours: Monday - Friday

TravelThis hybrid function offers the flexibility to work remotely while staying connected through periodic on-campus collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to campus as needed, located on engaging team projects and evolving business priorities.

Starting income/Rate
Expected hiring range: $ 75,000 - $100,000
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer's good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
