adjunct Athletic Trainer
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12 month position.
manager: Head Athletic Trainer/Student-Athlete Program Director
Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the adjunct Athletic Trainer supports the athletic department by providing care to student-athletes including injury avoidance, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Union College sponsors 26 intercollegiate sports, 24 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I. The College is committed to excellence in academics and athletics, diversity and a well-balanced, broad located intercollegiate athletics program dedicated to the concept of the student-athlete.

Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
   »Injury avoidance, Rehabilitation, and Treatment: Develop and implement injury avoidance programs. Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary. Evaluate and diagnose athletic injuries. Design and monitor rehabilitation programs for injured student athletes. Provides therapeutic treatment such as taping, bracing, and modalities.
   »Communication and Collaboration: Educate student athletes on care and avoidance of athletic injuries. Provide guidance on proper conditioning techniques. Communicate effectively with coaches and student athletes about injury status and progress. Coordinates with physicians and healthcare providers as needed.
   »Administration: Provides support with the everyday operations of the athletic training room and assists with the supervision of work study students. Electronic medical record keeping of athletic injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
Qualifications required
   » Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field required. Master's degree and practice with National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) regulations and compliance knowledge preferred.
   » National Athletic Trainers Association certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers.
   » First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator certifications required.
   » capability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
   » capability to work in inclement weather.
   » Physical General Requirements: capability to engage in various physical activities, which may include lifting items of different weights of 25 pounds and more, and standing for extended periods.
   » capability to travel when necessary.
   » Must be a licensed athletic trainer in New York State or eligible for licensing in the state of New York.
   » A valid United States driver's license or eligibility for licensing is required.
   » Strong computer expertise and an knowledge of electronic medical record keeping.
   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise.
   » capability to work within a collaborative team environment.
   » The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.

Compensation
The annual income range this job offer is $48,000.00-$52,000.00. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
