Director of Corporate Development

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Director of Corporate Development. Primary Function: The Director of Corporate Development is an integral leadership abilities position responsible for supporting strategic initiatives, partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions that align with the credit union’s mission and growth objectives. this function requires a forward-thinking leader with exceptional analytical, strategic, and relationship-building expertise to identify opportunities, execute growth strategies, and strengthen the organization’s competitive position in the market.
Responsibilities
   » Identify and evaluate corporate development opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic investments.
   » Support the development and execution of strategic plans to support the credit union’s long-term growth objectives.
   » Assess market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
   » Conduct or participate in the creation of financial modeling, due diligence, and practiccapability studies for potential transactions.
   » Develop business cases and present recommendations to executive leadership abilities and the board of directors.
   » Monitor and assess the performance of completed deals to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
   » Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of corporate development initiatives, ensuring alignment across departments.
   » Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, investment bankers, and advisors.
   » Ensure all corporate development activities comply with regulatory requirements and align with the credit union’s mission and values. Coordinate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to address potential risks and liabilities.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field required.
   » Minimum 10 Years practice in banking or credit unions with preferred practice in corporate development, strategy, or investment banking.
