Job Summary The Lead Proposal Administrator is responsible for final review and quality assurance for proposal budgets and other proposal elements in alignment with sponsor and solicitation guidelines and is responsible for leading the timely development and delivery of feedback as applicable to the research community (faculty, business administrators, and research personnel). The Lead Proposal Administrator: » Ensures review of proposals for compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, monitoring proposals for risks, and escalating deviations to Finance and Research leadership abilities as appropriate, serving as an authorized official on behalf of RPI to represent and certify on behalf of the institute to the accuracy of proposal content, as well as other matters as required by sponsors. » Is responsible for developing and delivering training for the research community, as well as providing quality assurance and final review for all proposals. T » Is responsible for the development and delivery of business process documentation and tools for proposal submission at RPI. » Leads process improvement and training and communications related to proposal review and submission at RPI. » Manages service escalations from the research community and is responsible for overall customer service for internal and external stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's Degree in related field » 5 years' practice in sponsored programs in a higher education setting with in-depth expertise of federal proposal submission procedures for a variety of federal sponsors, as well as other federal rules related to the administration of federal grants and contracts, such as 2 CFR 200 (Office of Management and Budget's Uniform Guidance) and the federal acquisition regulations. significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » practice with mentorship and training and education in a research administration setting and performing final review of proposal documents from a central office (prior to submission to sponsor) for institutional compliance » practice reviewing and submitting proposals for a variety of Federal sponsors (e.g., NSF, NIH, Department of Defense, Deparrttment of Energy) serving as an authorized representative of university in various sponsor portals (e.g., grants.gov, research.gov, EERE, NSPIRES, etcetera) » Familiarity with eRA and ERP systems (such as Cayuse and Banner) in a higher education/research environment » expertise of federal regulations and policies governing non-profit and/or educational institutions, specifically as they relate to proposal review and submission across a complex mix of Federal, State, foundation/not-for-profit and industry sponsored opportunities » Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite » capability to analyze and interpret data » capability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing » Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service expertise » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives; deadline oriented » capability to work independently or as part of a team » capability to work in fast paced, rapidly changing environment. » Demonstrated problem solving and project management expertise. » Demonstrated managery expertise » Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal supervision » Excellent oral and written expertise » capability to interact well with people either individually or in a group setting Application instructions Follow the on-screen prompts to create a brief online profile.
