Excellent Corporate Opportunity!Staff Accountant - Adams Fairacre FarmsStaff Accountant: Adams Fairacre Farms has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to assist the Controller and accounting team with daily, monthly, and end of year accounting and finance operations. The primary responsibilities include reconciling multiple bank accounts, monitoring everyday bank activity and cash/tender reconciliations, tracking fixed assets, preparing and posting journal entries, and other related work.this job offer is not offering remote work. General Purpose The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Director in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Finance Director Principle Responsibilities » Assist the Finance Director with daily, monthly and year end operations of the Accounting Department » Assist in preparation of Financial Statements » Prepare and post journal entries » Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations » Monitor utilities – including electric, gas and water » Monitor credit card activity and processing fees » Assist in annual external audit » Intercompany Reconciliations » Ensure sales and use tax compliance » Maintain and track 1099 compliance » Track and record transfers between locations and departments » Assist in semiannual inventory » Assist in preparation of Financial Statements » Record fixed assets and depreciation schedules » Process construction expenses and assist Construction Manager with paperwork Qualifications » Bachelor degree in Accounting or Bachelor degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting. Degree(s) must be from an accredited college or university » A minimum of 3 years of accounting practice is required expertise, expertise, and Abilities » PC proficiency: highly skilled in Excel spreadsheets and MS Word » Sage Accounting FAS software system, SFAS Rules » Sage 100 practice a plus » QuickBooks practice a plus » AIA Contract practice a plus » capability to keep confidentiality of Adams’ financial information » capability to establish effective and professional working relationships with co-workers » capability to provide excellent written and verbal communications » capability to lgain new accounting activities and to seek help/training when necessary » Excellent attention to detail and accuracy » Deadline –oriented, excellent time management capability » General Math expertise » practice working for a larger company (1000+ employees) » Must have excellent work habits, including a availability to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
