Nestled on a beautiful 275-acre campus in upstate NY, Rensselaer is home to five schools, 32 research centers, three makerspaces, an observatory, and one of the world's fastest supercomputers. Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Compensation and Employment, the Compensation Analyst supports Rensselaer's broad-located compensation processes. tasks include conducting job analyses as well as market data collection and analyses to create competitive compensation recommendations in support of Rensselaer's Total Compensation Program. The Compensation Analyst participates in income surveys and survey analyses and provides support to the Director of Compensation and Employment related to compensation planning, analysis, and research. The Compensation Analyst also assists with detail-oriented implementation of approved recommendations. The Compensation Analyst is classified as an HR Specialist. Hiring may be at the HR Specialist or Sr. HR Specialist, depending on practice. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in human resources, business or another related field, along with three (3) or more significant human resources practice. To be considered as a Sr. HR Specialist, candidates must have a total of five (5) years of directly related practice that includes performing job analysis, market pricing, and/or income survey participation. Though this is a data-oriented position, the prosperous candidate must exhibit the capability to see beyond the numbers to support sound decision-making and must be able to communicate complex concepts in a manner that is appropriate to the audience. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and details both in their analyses and in the tasks related to implementation. Preferred Qualifications » Professional Certification in Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM or HRCI professional designation » practice In Higher Education » practice with Banner » practice with Brio, Oracle OBIEE or comparable enterprise Business Intelligence Tools Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » expertise of compensation practices, job analysis/evaluation and general HR practices » expertise of federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation » Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office including advanced excel expertise » capability to lgain new systems and software applications. » capability to analyze and report data with a commitment to accuracy and details » capability to work independently and within a team environment with strong interpersonal expertise and communication expertise, both oral and written » capability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally » Exhibits comfort, ease, and flexibility working in an extremely fast-paced ever-changing, deadline-driven environment Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday.
