Listing description The Coordinator of the Cannabis Workforce Program will assist the Hudson Valley Education and Workforce Consortium in the management of the Cannabis Workforce Development Project - a regional grant program that supports the emerging cannabis industry in New York State. The project leverages a sector partnership strategy with a focus on increasing student's and job seeker's economic mobility, and covering employer skill needs and workforce challenges. The Hudson Valley Education and Workforce Consortium is a collaborative effort among SUNY Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester community colleges to create broader access to academic programs and workforce training all over the Mid-Hudson Valley region. The Coordinator of the Cannabis Workforce Program will report to the Consortium's lead principal community college administrator at SUNY Orange, and will help build and sustain the grant to realize/exceed established goals and results. Specifically, the Coordinator of the Cannabis Workforce Program will help the HVEWC build/enhance and deliver short-term, non-degree credential programs or course offerings within certificate and academic degrees to quickly address employer skill needs and prepare job seekers, especially those from underserved communities, for careers in the cannabis industry. In addition, the Coordinator of Cannabis Workforce Program will assist the HVEWC in facilitating and maintaining partnerships that foster and promote positive working relationships with employers, workforce development centers, education/training partners, economic development agencies, and equity partners. Travel will be required as needed. this job offer may require fluctuating work hours depending on project deadlines. General Requirements: Education & Associate's Degree with five (5) years of significant practice as listed below OR Bachelor's Degree with three (3) years of significant practice as listed below. practice Required: significant administrative practice in Education, Training, or Workforce Development program management; and one (1) year Project Management practice. Preferred Knowledge, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: » Knowledge and practice in program planning for adult learners, workforce development, and/or the cannabis industry. » capability to coordinate projects/initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. » Solid project management expertise; capability to prioritize across multiple strategic priorities and issues; an agility to make changes to plans as new information is learned and analyzed. » Knowledge and knowledge of key performance indicators and metrics to support planning and decision making, and continuously improve efforts. » Strong communication expertise including public speaking, and producing high quality written reports. » Strong problem-solving expertise with the capability to identify the appropriate processes for covering particular issues, arrive at supportable recommendations, build consensus, and ensure prosperous implementation. » Knowledge or availability to lgain procedures, operations, organizational structures, and principles of higher education institutions. » Able to coordinate the efforts of consultants. » A commitment to the principles of equity and inclusion and knowledge of and sensitivity to diversity issues related to effective communication and interaction with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds, age ranges, social backgrounds, practice levels, etc. Additional Information: Deadline for Applying: March 26, 2023 Position begins as soon as possible. income: $50,000-$57,567 per annum, commensurate with practice and grant funding.
