Director of Operations - School of Nursing

The Director of Operations, School of Nursing (Dir SON Ops) has principal responsibilities for overall school operations to ensure that critical school tasks and projects stay on track in support of the school’s overall goal achievement and success. The Dir SON Ops works in partnership with the Dean, other SON and CNHS leaders, as well as other key university staff to ensure that SON initiatives, projects and deliverables are tracked, meet their milestones and deliverables and comply with overall university policies, procedures and work priorities. this job offer is responsible for both superviseing and specifically leading many of these projects and tasks, as well as interpretation, administration, and implementation of significant policies and procedures. Using learned practice with university protocols, policies and practices, as well as advanced technical and professional expertise and sound judgment, the Dir SON Ops identifies, clarifies, and resolves highly visible and complex issues with substantial significance that impact and span multiple areas. The Dir SON Ops will report to the Dean SON. The essential tasks and responsibilities for this job offer fall into the following categories, in addition to other tasks assigned.
Essential tasks and Responsibilities include the following, other tasks may be assigned:
supervise SON Overall Operations 
   » Ensure that the SON meets its overall financial and related goals; acts as a business manager for the SON in order to ensure that initiatives and tasks needed to meet goals get done.
   » Support the SON goals by monitoring the budget, supports strategies that assist in meeting goals, as well as acting on any issues that arise that may impact the budget, and ensuring that the SON faculty and staff are aware of the budget and its implications.
   » Monitor student enrollments to ensure that the School is meeting its targets; ensure that appropriate action is taken when targets not being met.
   » Supports student enrollment activities as needed.
   » Plans and provides a superior, caring environment through effective student-centered activities.
   » Works as a liaison to Enrollment Management units and functions to ensure seamless and effective student support.
   » Monitors and responds to student issues that arise in order to ensure appropriate resolution.
   » Ensures that all School activities and operations are carried out in compliance with all statutory and other pertinent regulations.
   » Reviews systems, tools, policies and procedures on a regular basis to identify necessary changes and supervises updates and revisions.
   » Monitor student satisfaction and other key metrics to ensure that the School is delivering on its commitment to both its learning and student practice goals.
   » Ensure that the clinical-related needs of the School are met and coordinated.
Communication, Collaboration and Community Building  
   » Assist the Dean in ensuring that SON faculty and staff are aware of pertinent developments, updates and other key information impacting their functions.
   » Serve as the School’s primary liaison to all units and offices that impact the operations of the School, with particular attention to coordination of activities with the Office of Project Management in order to ensure that key stakeholders are informed and consulted regarding projects that involve their areas of responsibility and that projects proceed in a way that ensures that key milestones and deliverables are met.
   » supervise coordination of training and assimilation of new processes, systems, policies and procedures.
   » Foster a culture of engagement among the SON team and with students and alumni.
   » Represent the School on University-wide councils, task forces, and groups as assigned.
Project Planning, Implementation, and Management 
   » Ensure that SON programs are developed and supported in support of the School’s goals and the students’ needs.
   » Proactively work with partners to ensure the achievement of project and School goals; work with the Office of Project Management to ensure consciousness of key projects and milestones, as well as to identify project management needs that require the assistance of OPM staff.
   » Coordinate internal administrative functions to ensure high quality and efficient operations.
   » Provide data and supporting documentation for projects and initiatives as needed.
   » Collaborate with key units to prepare significant, accurate data and supporting documentation to guide the evidence-located decision making and reporting needs of the School.
   » Contribute to development of business practices and organizational change to improve processes and workflow.

   » Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/MBA in a field related to business or adult higher education preferred.
   » A minimum of 3 years practice in a operations function or similar 
   » Five years of higher education-related, administration or business management practice is preferred; additional practice, including leadership abilities preferred.
   » Candidate must demonstrate exceptional organizational and decision-making expertise; strong empirical, analytical, and problem-solving expertise, excellent oral and written communication expertise.
   » practice utilizing database software, technology, project management and various learning management systems is essential.
   » Additionally, the candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and prepare accurate and detailed reports.
The hiring income range for this job offer is $94,000.00 - $110,000.00. The hiring income range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
