OverviewHudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of VP Information Technology. Primary Function: Responsible for leading the Information Technology solutions and functions of the credit union in conformity with HVCU policies and conforming to regulatory requirements, in order to achieve the strategic goals of the credit union. Responsible for information security, computer operations, application support, software development, business systems administration, network operations, desktop support, help desk, telecommunications and the implementation of new hardware and software solutions.
Responsibilities» Strategically manages the technical operations of the Credit Union including, Information Security, Computer Operations, Software Development, Application Support, Business Systems Administration, Network Operations, and Desktop Support functions in the Information Technology Department and ensuring capacity, availcapability, security, relicapability, recovercapability, and continuous improvement of the Credit Union's IT infrastructure.
» Identifies, develops, implements, and manages strategic projects to ensure systems, infrastructure, data, and related technologies are optimal for the mission of the Credit Union.
» Responsible for timely implementation, testing, integration, monitoring, and security of new systems to support Credit Union initiatives.
» Manages vendor relationships to ensure:a. Appropriate Service Level Agreements are in place and actively monitoredb. Competitive pricing during contract negotiationsc. Vendors understand HVCU business strategy and help us achieve our goals and objectives.
» Stays current in emerging technology trends primarily related to the financial services industry.
» Works with the Executive Vice President & Chief Operations agent to assist in the development and implementation of long-range strategic plans to address the evolving information processing needs of the Credit Union; conducts on-going software/equipment research of available products adaptable to Credit Union operations for improvement of performance and delivery of service.
» Develops and maintains effective and productive working relationships with user departments, senior managers, and vendors. Works with other IT Managers and the user community to create, modify and test the Credit Union's Business Continuity Plan. Ensures employees' adherence to service guidelines and that superior service is provided at all times.
» Responsible for creating the budget and monitoring expenditures for the IT Department.
» Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
» Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union's initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
» Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications» Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required
» Minimum 5 years of practice with one or more of the following hardware platforms: Intel located x86 servers, IBM P Series servers required
» Minimum 5 years of practice with one or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Windows Server, IBM AIX Unix, Ubuntu Linux required
» Minimum 5 years of leadership abilities practice in an IT environment, including managing relationships with internal partners and external vendors required
» Minimum 2 years of practice with public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Digital Ocean, etc, required
» Minimum 2 years of managing designing, building, deploying, and running web applications and application programming interfaces in an enterprise environment preferred
» Previous practice in financial services industry preferred
