We are a hidden gem!Charge Aide/Med TechsThe Heritage Home for Women is now hiring part time Charge Aides for their 6 am to 2 pm and 2 to 10 pm shifts 2-3 days per week, and every other weekend. The Heritage Home is an adult home for elder women located on Union Street in Schenectady. Heritage Home has been providing exceptional care and friendship to older women in a safe and nurturing environment for 155 years!Qualified candidates: Must be High School graduates and have the equivalent. of 2 years+ of work practice as a Charge Aide/Med Tech in an elderly adult care facility in a managery position. Must have current 1st aide certification. candidates must have good verbal and written communication expertise, enjoy working with the elderly and have a positive attitude. Basic Responsibilities include but are not limited to : » Shift oversight & supervision of Resident Care Staff » Dispensing medications as needed to 36 Residents on your shift medication distribution for the shift, signing med sheets, narcotic book and antibiotic log as meds are given, using the Dot System and your signature. » Ensure the smooth running of the shift – both with your staff and residents. » Ensure that Aides are doing their jobs – assist as needed. Check ADL’s and tracking books for Charge Aide and Aide signatures daily. » Responsibility for any situations that arise; provide necessary paperwork; notify proper people, notify Administrator. Prepare and sign reports as needed. » Responsible for 24-hour report and when appropriate, Progress & Behavior Tracking notes. » In the absence of the Resident Services Coordinator, responsible for CRF follow through when resident returns from doctor’s appointments or emergency room visits. » Maintain regular communication with Administrator and Pharmacy Coordinator. When Administrator is not available, you may direct issues to the Resident Services manager. » Security Responsibilities during your shift of the facility as needed » Work with Pharmacy Coordinator on Resident telephone orders or written orders. Record on 24 hour report & highlight. » Follow up with physicians for new and change orders, if needed. » Maintain list in the Medex of d/c’d medications for MAR update. » Check in any medications that are delivered. » Count and document all controlled drugs at time of delivery. » Follow up with medication orders, if needed. » Assist Resident Services manager to coordinate paperwork and ensure residents are ready for their doctor appointments.
