Transportation Coordinator (Ten Broeck Center and Golden Hill)Ten Broeck Center and Golden Hill are seeking a qualified transportation coordinator to join our team! This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday 8-4.
JOB SUMMARY : supervises the operation and scheduling of the Ten Broeck Center and Golden Hill vans and drivers.
» High School Diploma or GED preferred.
» practice/capability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
» Must be 21 years of age or older.
» Must have a valid New York State driver's license.
» Must have a clean driving record.
» Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
» Responsible for actively demonstrating Ten Broeck's PRIDE of professionalism, responsibility, integrity, dedicated service, and excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (TEN BROECK CENTER & GOLDEN HILL):
·Schedule drivers and make transportation arrangements for all resident appointments across Ten Broeck Center and Golden Hill.
·Schedules transportation with outside ambulette companies.
·Works with administration and corporate to review transportation options and make cost effective transportation decisions.
·Communicates regularly with unit clerks and nursing office managers for any appointments.
·Adjusts schedule quickly due to the addition of appointments or cancellations.
·Keeps track of the maintenance performed on the vehicles.
·Reports any issues with the van so it can be addressed immediately (i.e., light out, blinker not working, new windshield wipers needed, etc.) and arranges for repairs to be made.
·Collaborates with admissions, discharge planners, and activities for any assistance with transporting residents.
·Reports all cases of alleged violations involving mistreatment, neglect or abuse including injuries of unknown sources.
·Notes resident changes of condition and reports same to LPN/RN.
·Other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL General Requirements:
·Requires movement all over the building, in the van, and during visits to resident destinations. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
·Must be able to lift and turn and residents.
·Treats residents/patients with respect, dignity, and compassion.
·Is cooperative and considerate to fellow employees.
·Is available and willing to assist as needed.
·Is neat, clean and properly attired as per dress code.
·Is available for assigned overtime.
