Employment Specialist The Employment Specialist is a member of the Employment Services Team! In this job offer, you will be responsible for developing and preparing individuals for employment and internship opportunities, and upon placement, providing functional assessment and on-site/off-site training and follow-along vocational support services. The Employment Specialist collaborates with individuals to create a Job Search Plan and develops strategies to implement objectives identified in the Job Search Plan. You will identify potential employment barriers, clarify short term goals and identify the services and supports/accommodations an individual will require to choose, obtain and maintain employment. Employment Specialists assess individual's job seeking expertise and provide job seeking expertise training: locating employment opportunities, resume writing, completing job applications, employment interviewing. You will provide job development services: contact employers to locate employment opportunities for consumers; match consumer's expertise and interests with employment opportunities; arrange for and take individuals to interviews; provide follow up on job openings by filling out applications; assist consumers in sending follow up letters after interviews; and arrange for tours of job sites. Employment Specialists perform on going assessment of individual's work quality and productivity and, as needed, implement training interventions.
