Job Summary The Department of Communication and Media at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Speech Communication, beginning in August 2024. The candidate would join a dynamic, growing faculty researching communication and media from a broad range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary fields. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a PhD in speech communication, rhetoric/persuasion, debate, political communication, legal rhetoric or a related field. Evidence of effective teaching, and the capability to demonstrate, through accomplishment, promise of academic, scholarly and/or research achievement in and/or commitment to speech communication, rhetoric/persuasion, debate, political communication, legal rhetoric, or freedom of speech. For appointment at the rank of Senior Lecturer, candidates must also have attained a significant level of scholarly activity, research output, or individual creative practice. candidates must meet stated minimum education and practice requirements. Preferred Qualifications Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities candidates must have a record of research and scholarly publications as well as evidence of prosperous collegiate teaching at the time of appointment.
