Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at Augustana Campus, Camrose.
The Department of Social Sciences at the Augustana Faculty of the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track position in Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in Psychology or be near completion by the start date of the appointment. They will also be expected to show a strong commitment to supporting the Augustana tradition of high-quality undergraduate teaching, research and service.

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in Psychology or be near completion by the start date of the appointment. 
The successful candidate will be an emerging scholar whose research and teaching are grounded in cognitive science, behavioural, or any other major area of experimental psychology. Areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to, learning and memory, attention, perception, language, decision-making, motivation, psychometrics and psychological measurement, or related areas in the scientific study of cognition and behaviour.
We particularly welcome candidates whose expertise complements existing strengths in Psychology at Augustana and who can contribute to the development and delivery of upper-level courses within their area of expertise.
An ability to teach senior-level research methods and/or statistics courses would also be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be offered a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, including a comprehensive benefits package.
The terms and conditions of this appointment are governed by Schedule A of the collective agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Psychology curriculum, particularly the BSc in Psychology, and to Augustana’s commitment to high-quality and inclusive undergraduate education, including ongoing efforts to Indigenize and decolonize the curriculum and advance Access, Community + Belonging (ACB) in teaching, research, and mentorship.
