Position: Cook

Total Vacancies: 2

Terms of employment: Full time (30 to 40 hours per week)

Hourly wage: $17.00 to $18.00

Location: 1047 Stockton St Regina, SK S4X 4V3

Expected Start Date: ASAP

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes

• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or dietary requirements

• Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients and finished dishes

• Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain safety and cleanliness

• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

• Order food supplies and kitchen equipment when required

• Supervise and assist kitchen helpers during food preparation and service

• Train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and safe food-handling procedures

• Clean kitchen work areas and properly maintain cooking equipment

• Coordinate daily kitchen activities and ensure orders are prepared on time

Position Requirements and Qualifications

- High school diploma

- 7-12 months of experience as a cook or in a related commercial kitchen role

- Experience with Thai/Asian cuisines is an asset

- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and safe food-handling practices

- Well organized; flexibility; reliability; able to work under pressure

- Client focus; team player

Work conditions:

- Fast-paced, physically demanding environment; standing for extended periods; work under pressure
