Experience • Three years to less than five years of commercial and residential glass installation experience. • Commercial glazing installation experience is required. Work Setting • Commercial projects • Residential projects • Installation • Repair • On-site customer service • Relocation costs not covered by employer Key Responsibilities • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, and other glass products. • Install doors, windows, and related hardware. • Prepare shop drawings. • Repair glass doors and other glass structures. • Supervise other workers. • Transport glass products and materials safely. • Work at heights using scaffolding, swing stages, or other elevated work platforms. Experience & Specialization Experience with one or more of the following is required or considered an asset: • Float glass • Mirrors • Sealed units • Frame fabrication and installation • Curtain wall systems (stock-length and prefabricated) • Spandrel panel installations • Aluminum framing members • Entrance systems • Skylights and slope-glazed installations • Curtain walls • Stained glass installations • Aluminum storefront systems • Commercial window systems • Barrel vaults and solariums • Glass baffles • Smoke and sprinkler baffles • Overhead automatic doors • Shower doors and tub enclosures • Suspended glazing systems • X-ray glass • Display cases • Glass walls and interior partitions Transportation & Security Requirements • Valid driver's licence • Driver's licence validity check • Own transportation • Own vehicle Work Conditions • Physically demanding • Handling heavy loads • Standing for extended periods • Frequent bending, crouching and kneeling • Outdoor work • Hot work environments Personal Protective Equipment • Steel-toed safety boots are required.
