Job Duties:

• Provide personal care and companionship for elderly family members

• Administer bedside and personal care to elderly family members, such as aid in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, etc.

• Perform routine health-related duties under the general direction of home care agency supervisor or nurse, including but not limited to assisting in administrating medications, collecting specimens, attending doctor appointments, changing non-sterile dressings, etc.

• Plan and prepare meals or special diets according to necessity, and feed or assist in feeding elderly family members

• Change non-sterile dressings,

• Feed or assist in feeding,

• Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes, cleaning rooms and making beds

• Assist in regular exercises, e.g., light rehabilitation exercises or walks

Job requirements:

• Secondary school education is required

• First Aid Certificate is required

• 1 to less than 7 months related experience is required

• Completion of a training program in care of the elderly would be an asset

• Fluent in English is required

• College or other courses in home support would be an asset
