Under the direction of the Ostomy and Wound Care Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Ostomy and Wound Care, the Nurse Practitioner will provide medical oversight to the daily operations of the Complex Foot Clinic. In conjunction with the nurses specializing in wound, ostomy, and continence care, the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients attending the clinic to maximize opportunities for healing. Goals will include minimizing detriments to healing including facilitating offloading, provision of health counselling, liaising with primary healthcare team/GP for glucose management, treatment of infection, and any other person-specific interventions. This role will refer to specialty physicians including orthopedics, cardiovascular, plastics, and infectious diseases as necessary for advanced management of wound.
