We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Report Developer for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a premier data engineering, reporting enablement, and cloud data platform capacity, specializing in designing, building, and operating scalable data solutions and modern analytics pipelines.

As a Senior Report Developer, you will bridge the gap between diverse source systems, cloud data platforms, and downstream business intelligence consumers. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will lead the implementation of scalable batch and near real-time data pipelines, operationalize Medallion Architecture layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold), and optimize data workflows utilizing Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Databricks. This position demands a technical data authority with extensive hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, Spark frameworks, Delta Lake, and CI/CD automation who can ensure high-performance, secure, and accurate data product delivery.

Location: Toronto, ON

Assignment Type: Onsite (5 days per week)

Contract Duration: 6-month contract (with potential for extension)

Advantages
Modern Lakehouse Architecture: Build enterprise pipelines using Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).

Medallion Framework Leadership: Operationalize structured and semi-structured datasets across Bronze, Silver, and Gold lakehouse layers.

Automated CI/CD Workflows: Drive deployment automation, version control, and data engineering testing with Azure DevOps and Git.

Enterprise Analytics Enablement: Enable high-impact reporting use cases and transform raw source data into reliable, curated data products.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable batch and near real-time data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and related cloud services.

Develop robust ingestion frameworks to onboard structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from various enterprise source systems.

Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to transform, cleanse, validate, and prepare data for operational reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.

Develop, monitor, and maintain Databricks notebooks, automated workflows, and Spark-based data processing jobs.

Implement and operationalize Medallion Architecture design patterns (Bronze, Silver, Gold) using Delta Lake tables and Lakehouse principles.

Manage, configure, and optimize storage solutions utilizing Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), including data partitioning, indexing, and archival strategies.

Implement automated data quality checks, reconciliation routines, and performance monitoring to guarantee data integrity and reliability.

Develop reusable scripts, framework utilities, and automated tasks using Python and SQL to accelerate data engineering operations.

Participate in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline builds, code reviews, unit test automation, and release management in Azure DevOps.

Collaborate with data architects, product managers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to translate complex analytics requirements into scalable technical implementations.

Support data governance initiatives, metadata management, data cataloguing, role-based access control, and privacy compliance.

Maintain comprehensive technical specifications, architectural designs, data mapping artifacts, and standard operational runbooks.
